The 2010 is starting to take shape with confirmed dates up on the SCX website now. Couple of races still to be confirmed - we'll add details once we have them.

Hi. First post on braveheart!
Could someone please recommend what gearing i should be considering for getting into cx this winter. I currently have a van nik amazon, with a triple chain set. It has the tyre and brake clearances for cx. But the gears are set up for touring and therefor has about 30 gears! what kind of ratios are most common?

thanks.
stephen.

hi stephen, a reasonable guide would be a 38/46 chainset with a 12-27 cassette. With a triple you'll have all the gears you will ever need and more!

Remember to check the new cross regs before buying any new kit.

There is no change to bike regs for domestic competitions.Only UCI sanctioned events have the ammended max tyre width from 35mm to 33mm.EH ! What's that all about? They must be really bored.

Think there might be a Slingshot in the bike museum at Drumlanrig Castle.

Lots of "monster cross" bikes on the 'net. Some more aesthetically pleasing than others...

Guys, I'm interested in having a go at CX this year, but don't want to buy a bike at the moment. Is there any rule in riding a mountain bike with drop handle bars and skinnier tyres?

thanks in advance.
