Had a great night out in Edinburgh watching the racing. What a brutal circuit! I thought the Endura boys were doing a great job in the Elite, along with Alex Coutts; I was really please to have local riders to cheer on. Well done.
After being away on his own for some (?) laps, Evan took third. Kristian House, who bridged to Evan, looked very strong indeed and crossed the line a long time before the chasers. Cameron Meyer completed the podium. Davy Lines also put in an impressive performance, although he was lapped by House.
I can't remember the names of the winners from the two support races (maybe shouldn't have gone to the pub when I got home ).
I had a lovely night out and look forward to next year. |

| Good ride by Calum Wilkinson. Think he finished about 6th? Was he not involved in a bad crash a few weeks ago. Was hanging in with the top guys for 95% of the race. |

great ride from Evan- looked awesome powering up Victoria St lap after lap. Also really enjoyed seeing Davie dishing out some pain to Russ Downing and eventually dropping him. Nothing against Russ just great to see Scottish pros mixing it so well.
House tweeted about some abuse from spectators that was being doled out to Downing- what was that about?
a few pics here http://www.flickr.com/photos/owenphilipson/sets/72157624292878039/ I took lots more of the 2/3 race, if anyone is wondering if I have a pic of them message me and I'll have a look.

Evan (or Calum?)giving it big licks up the cobbles with Sky, HTC and Garmin struggling and only House able to go with him.

Great rides by Alex Coutts and Davy Lines, noticeable how many top UK riders disappeared after a few laps or were absent from the start, only 10 finishers in the main event also which looked a bit bad, is the course too tough?

Yeah, good night and good to see Evan, Alex, Callum, and Davey up there and sticking it to some big names.
The course is certainly spectacular but is way too hard. The latter part of Saturday's Elite race got a bit dull due to there only being about a dozen riders left. And what's the point in bringing over big continental names if they only do a few laps - were they told how hard the circuit was? I'd much rather watch a race over a less demanding circuit but one which more of the field could compete in and finish. |

The Grassmarket is a designated event centre by the cooncil, so organisers are kind of limited in the circuit they can use. Maybe basing it Princes Street and some combination of streets behind it would lead to more competitive racing?
Would have to be good at bunnyhopping the tramlines. ;)
were they told how hard the circuit was? I've lived in Edinburgh for a fair chunk of my life and didn't realise how hard racing that circuit would be when I did the 4th cat race past year. I'm a fat wee biffer though... |

If its good enough recently MTV awards in 2003, then I'm sure it could do a Nocturne crit?
