Can someone please clarify the timings for me? I’ve been listed as 31.05 behind the women’s race winner & I can’t understand how there is such a large gap as that would mean that I would have been lapped by the leading women & over 60s, which definitely did not occur, and in fact would mean having been lapped twice.

The women’s winners time of 2.12.54 puts them only 7 mins behind the over 40s bunch but the O40s bunch lapped the over 60s/women.

Gaps of 15 min + in the O60/women’s group would also mean lapping of the slower riders in the over 60s/women which didn’t happen.

There was confusion during the race over how many laps I still had to do, as I was told twice that I had 2 laps to go. I wonder if I & the 3 riders ahead of me have ridden a lap more than the main O60/women bunch?

I did expect to be a good bit off the pace but this doesn’t make sense to me.

I can't answer all of your questions but your second point there is wrong ; a time of 2hr 12 min 54 secs is over 13 mins behind the V40 race , not 7min.
At a guess I'd say you did 10 1/2 laps , so at least you got some extra training in .

Nobody did any extra laps! The winners time for the Womens & V60 is correct, the time is taken from the crossing of the finish line first time. The W & V60 started close on 5 min behind the V40 & V50.
See my results for correct time gaps.

Sorry

I must be really dim, but I'm still not understanding how the main bunch could have finished in front of me by more than 31mins but I wasn't lapped! This would assume that I took over 31 mins (which I defiantely didn't) to do a 5mile lap on my last lap would it not? Even I wasn't that slow yesterday!!!

Just seen results posted by Sandy Wallace, rather than those posted by 'harrisphoto' which show me as 16mins down rather than 31mins. Now, that DOES make sense!
